THE HISTORY OF SBS

Slidell Baptist Seminary was organized in 1994 through the leadership of Dr. Paul O. Dabdoub. After much prayer, Dr. Dabdoub, who has been in the ministry for 36 years, felt that there was a need for an old fashion, Bible believing Southern Baptist seminary that was solid, conservative and yet affordable that any child of God and those who have been called of God into the ministry could have their dreams come true to be educated, thus being equipped for Christian service. The church that Dr. Dabdoub pastors, Ridge Memorial Baptist Church of Slidell, Louisiana agreed to place Slidell Baptist Seminary under the umbrella of the church.

Dr. Dabdoub holds several degrees, the Bachelor of Bible, the Master of Theology, and the Doctor of Pastoral Theology. He was also included in “Who’s Who in American Education” in 1989, 2003, 2006, and 2007. On October 24, 1997, Dr. Dabdoub was also awarded with a “Decree of Merit” by the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England for his outstanding contribution to “Advanced Theological Education”.

Dr. Dabdoub was called to preach in 1973 and has pastored four Baptist churches in Tennessee, Missouri and Louisiana. As mentioned earlier, he presently pastors Ridge Memorial Baptist Church of Slidell, Louisiana. He accepted the pastorate there on May 19, 1991. He not only is an old fashion Bible believing preacher but he also has been given the gift of teaching. His ability to articulate the Word of God is easily recognized on the cassette tapes/CD’s in the courses that he teaches.

Established to provide quality education to men and women, SBS offers several degrees in Theology (Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral) by correspondence. The lectures are offered on quality cassettes or CD’s. The seminary provides an uncompromising sound course of study through correspondence.

On October 9, 1997, after being examined educationally, ethically, and spiritually, SBS qualified for accreditation by the American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions, Inc. of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
